About the job
Please describe your family for example: active/busy/quiet,likes/dislikes, special needs, health problems We are an active and very social family with mum (Lorraine) and dad (John) both working and 3 very friendly children – Isabel (9), Hannah (6) and Joshua (2.5). Our children are fun, active, eager to learn about new cultures and very respectful. We are part of a large family and several different community groups, providing great exposure and experience for someone new to the country. We have lived overseas ourselves, including our two eldest daughters, so we know what it’s like to live away from family and have somewhere you can call home.

Children do not have any health problems or special needs.

How many hours per week would the Au pair work? Between 35-45 hours/week (usually around 40 hours/week)
Pocket money per week offered, minimum  weekly stipend of $6 AUD per hour for candidates under the Basic category and a min of $180 if working less than 30 hrs. Minimum of $7 for Au pair Plus candidates $7/hour
Please describe her duties and working hours from Monday to Friday: (please note that au pairs should have most weekends free to catch up with other au pairs and avoid homesick) We need an Au Pair to look after Joshua 4 week days per week (he is in child care one day per week) and to look after Isabel and Hannah before and after school. Mum typically leaves home at between 7.30-8am and dad returns first between 4-5pm. We will need a little bit of flexibility from day to day, but generally the hours will be quite consistent. You will need to take the girls to school in the morning and pick them up in the afternoon. Mum usually takes Joshua to childcare on the one day he attends, but may occasionally require your help with this as well. Help is also required with light household duties and homework for Isabel and Hannah. We will also appreciate care one night per week for mum and dad time. All up we expect the number of hours help per week to be 35-45 hours. We are still confirming the start date, but it will likely be somewhere between early April and late May. Our minimum required help will be 6 months, but we are also looking for someone who might be able to extend to 9 months if required.
Would you let the au pair to study some hours during the day to improve her English? Yes, within reason. I would like to know how much of her time this will take up.
Any additional incentives: for example holidays, use of car, paid phone calls, help with travel fares and college fees, local activities and places of interest.

We often go on many day trips and are open to the Au Pair joining us on these days if she would like to see different parts of Sydney and Greater Sydney.

Unlimited wifi whilst at home is included.
